The Hard Rock Cafe in Seoul, South Korea, has a history of openings, relocations, and temporary closures. The first Hard Rock Cafe in Seoul opened in Apgujeong, but later relocated to Itaewon after a few years. This second location, which opened in Lotte World Mall, was the one that was later "temporarily closed". A Busan location was also opened. The Seoul location was known for its panoramic city views and for featuring both Korean-inspired dishes and classic American cuisine.
Key points about the Seoul Hard Rock Cafe's history:
  • Initial Location: The first Hard Rock Cafe in Seoul was located in Apgujeong.
  • Relocation: It later moved to a new location in Itaewon.
  • Busan Location: A separate Hard Rock Cafe was also opened in Busan.
  • Lotte World Mall: The second Seoul location was part of the Lotte World Mall.
  • Temporary Closure: The Itaewon location was eventually "temporarily closed" and all local contact details were removed from the Hard Rock Cafe corporate website.
  • Reasons for Closure: Reports suggest that factors such as unsuitable music choices and the need to re-establish in a strategic location might have contributed to the closures, according to The Korea Times.
  • Menu: The Seoul and Busan locations both featured a mix of Korean-inspired dishes and classic American fare.
