The sheet of stamps commemorating Diana, Princess of Wales, was first issued on September 19, 1997. This was just days after her tragic death, making it the first memorial stamp issued in her honor. The stamps feature different portraits of Diana and were released by Nevis, a Caribbean island where she had vacationed. The sheet contains nine stamps, each valued at $1.00. The set also includes a mint “Princess” Beanie Baby released the same year.
